MAX TSUMURAYA

Max Tsumuraya has 16 years experience in executive search in Japan. He is one of a few independent search consultants who conduct searches on a retainer-basis in Japan. Max specializes in managerial-level searches including CXOs for technology-intensive companies in the information technology, telecommunications, networking, and semiconductors industries.  Prior to becoming independent in 1999 he worked with Korn/Ferry International-Japan as a Vice President for eight years, and with Booz, Allen & Hamilton (Japan), Inc. for six years.  He began his career as a satellite engineer for Mitsubishi Electric Corporation in 1981.

Max holds an MSE in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering from Princeton University and MS in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Tokyo (completed requirements for his Ph.D. except for dissertation).  An astronaut candidate for Japan's space program, a recipient of a Rotary International Graduate Fellowship, Treasurer/Secretary of the Princeton Club of Japan, and a member of Society of Electronics, Information and Communication Engineers.
